January Bits

5th Feb 2024
It has been a fun filled start to 2024. The boys have enjoyed football and basketball activities. The boys marked the beginning of 2024 with some beautiful fireworks art.

Report writing is the focus in English for January and February. We've been spending good time familiarising ourselves before taking part in some shared writing activities. Our written piece on the African elephant was enjoyed by all.

The boys have been working hard at fractions and decimals since returning to school and are doing really well. Ms. Scannell is providing super support to the boys in these areas too.

We have been using our Chrome Books each Thursday. During this time, the boys are able to tackle assigned tasks by Mr. McMahon. These can be anything from paired research to group presentations. Jonathan recently wrote a fantastic document on the history of horse racing up to the present day in Ireland. Other work example have been group work on deforestation and the sustainable development goals.

Science Day saw us investigating fingerprints. This was a lovely hands on investigation for everybody and we were busy checking if we had loops, cusps or splits visible in our prints.

We've had informative chats with the RSA on road safety.

Danylo brought in his Ukrainian flute and played some lovely tunes. The boys really enjoyed listening to them.
